Roberts Farms is a fun and educational place to visit for a half or whole day with experiences in integrating agriculture in education. Tracy is a former teacher and has retired teachers that volunteer to help educate school groups. This experience is designed mainly for elementary and middle school aged students and is based around educational objectives.
Here is an example of what your group can experience in a day at Roberts Farms . . .
FIELD TRIP SCHEDULE
Upon your arrival please have students organized by classes. We have 3 educational stations available that rotate every 15 minutes. One station tours the cattle facilities with information about our calves, the second focuses on the life cycle of a pumpkin and pumpkin varieties, and the third is about health and nutrition.
Pre and post field trip lesson plans and activities are available.
Here is an example of the stations located at the farm that the students will rotate at. These stations are a combination of fun and learning!
At lunch time depending on group size the students can be split in half and sit on picnic tables to eat. You are welcome to bring school lunches or previous arrangements can be made if you need us to supply meals for an additional cost. Typically half of the students eat while the other half explores the corn maze and then they rotate.
Here is a sample schedule:
Remaining time will be spent enjoying the farm activities.
Depending on how long you can stay, here are some additional activities that are available:
Cleaning out a Pumpkin
Carving a Pumpkin
Decorating a Pumpkin
End of Day: Students pick out a pumpkin or gourd to take home. We do not discount group admission for field trips but everyone does take home a pumpkin or gourd and gets a coupon for a free ice cream during your next visit as a thank you for attending!
